A Thames skiff is a traditional clinker built rowing boat with fixed seats. Racing skiffs are based on the traditional design and can be singles, or doubles with a cox.

New boats are now very expensive, as the materials and skills used are of an extremely high standard.
The skulls, or 'blades' pass through 'thole pins' - wooden pegs fixed into the sides of the boat, and are held in place by 'strings' which are exactly that!

Skiffing is run under the rules of the SRA - Skiff Racing Association.
To commence skiffing, please contact the Club Captain or Skiffing Vice Captain, who will arrange a trial outing.
