Why Wraysbury?

WSPC was formed in the summer of 1931 by a group of keen river sports enthusiasts from Wraysbury, but suitable accommodation couldn't be found on the Wraysbury side of the river, so the first clubhouse was in Haines Boatyard in Old Windsor. In fact the club still uses equipment donated by its first benefactor, Eric Haines. In 1975, the club left Old Windsor and moved to the current picturesque site adjoining Runnymede Pleasure Grounds.

The objectives of the club were, and still are, to promote and encourage the traditional sports of racing in Thames skiffs and punts, although Dragon Boat racing has recently been added to the activities.
